I am going on a caffiene Binge

I haven't written in a while. I have been waiting for news to tell. I had my needle biopsy for my thyroid mass. The results came back as 'indeterminant." This means that while there were no actual cancer cells, the random cells that were there COULD be cancer. The only way to determine if there is actually cancer is to remove the mass/thyroid and test it.

So this throws our TTC plans out the window, for a few months. We were able to cancel the sending of the sperm, and the ultrasounds, but I still ended up doing a round of Clomid. That sucks!

We are hoping to be able to schedule the surgery ASAP, so it doesn't interfere with our vacation. But most likely, it will be when school starts. And since I am starting a brand new grade level, I really don't want to miss the start of the school year. The upcoming 1st graders were ROTTEN as Kindergardners and I want to be there to whip them into shape!!

So in honor of canceling baby making, I will drink gallons of COKE tonight. I will be more conservative after tonight, but for one night I will not think about TTC or the possible effects of caffeine on the thyroid.

Happy 4th of July to all who celebrate it. May it be safe and happy!
Jill

Jill, you know I am thinking of you and hoping this all come out well. Let me know when your surgery is. For now, engage in all sort of recklesss summer fun that ttc would not allow!

Thanks for your comment on my blog yesterday - too bad I can't send you some of the yummy cakes we have decorated to have with your gallons of Coke!

In all seriousness, good luck with your surgery and I hope all comes well. As a fellow teacher, I know what you mean when it comes to not missing the beginning of the school year. That is the WORST time to be out.

Enjoy your summer vacation!

Bummer. I think If I were in your situation I'd be drinking gallons of another beverage....

Peace.

Cristin- I would too, but I don't like drinking. I got really drunk when I was about 22 and never got over it! It totally sucks! So I rarely drink now, but what is good about that. . .it doesn't take much alcohol to get a bit tipsy.

Hey hun. I am not sure you know this but I had thyroid cancer at 19. My biopsy showed nothing too. Good news is it is one of the best cancers to have, as if that is a good thing, but it is really not a bad one if you end up having to have one. Hopefully yours will be irritating cysts and that is it. As for the surgery, I had a partial thyroidectomy back then, recovers was sort of hard, but then 2 years ago I had to have the other side out and it was easy as cake so methods have gotten way easier.

I am here should you have any questions.

Much much love
